Mac is the owner of this place and he’s the man! His wife Pat is very cool, friendly and has a great smile that makes you feel welcome. Both are great cooks though they have an older couple back in the kitchen….and yes, they can cook too! Great food, great service and awesome Thai beer. Mac always greets and meets all of his customers and makes them feel right at home. The Eight Angels, Pad Thai & Pad See Ew dishes are awesome! Go see Mac and see why I call him the “Mac Daddy” of Thai food!

I ordered Chicken Larb (spicy) and Beef Panang (med. spicy). YUM. Larb had the right amount of ingredients (onions, cilantro, etc) and spiciness to it. Panang was prepared just right…nutty, creamy, and spicy. Generous portions too. I also ordered hot tea (which he brought out in a tea pot – not just a single serving as in a cup), all for $22. I brought back home enough to last me for the next two days.

Have to agree with my fellow Yelpers here – this is a 5-star joint all the way. The Singha was really cold and the meal was really good. We started with the spring rolls, which were predictably delicious. Like Lucinda M said in her review, we also try the Phad Thai the first anytime we go to a new Thai place. Rounding out the meal was green curry tofu. All of it was dynamite. The food was served hot and fast, the portions were the right size, and the price was reasonable (2 beers, 1 appetizer and 2 entres for $38)..

The food was amazing! If you’re craving Thai food, this restaurant hits the spot! You gotta try the chicken larb with cabbage my favorite! the owner is great. (First timers) if you wanna save some money go like there page on here and you’ll save 20% off on your bill. But overall the place is clean, nice arrangements, kid friendly.

Oh hey there. I’m just the duke of this place. No big deal. My wife and I eat here at least once a week. It gets its own line item in our family budget. Not only is this the absolute best Thai food in the world (the food in Thailand is a close second), but Mack and his family are amazing and generous people. They greet us by name every time we come. When I bring one of my kids with me, he lets them go around the corner and grab a fistful of fortune cookies. I forgot my wallet once, and the food was on the house. Things you must try from Emarald Thai before you die, or your entire life will be wholly unfulfilled and meaningless:
– Pad Thai
– Any of the red or green curries (the ones with coconut milk and bamboo shoots)
– Golden noodles
– Swimming rama
– Sweet and sour fish
– Fried spring rolls with plum sauce

This is my favorite place for three reasons…..#1 Hands down- Best Thai food ever! #2 the owner is amazing, nice and friendly, and the place is always inviting…..#3 he makes the BEST Thai Tea…mmmm I love it so much! I also love that the food is always consistant, always yummy, and I am not afraid to try anything new because I know it will be good…and fresh…EVERY TIME!

Really good food. They didn’t over cook the vegetables in my meal. The portion was so enough for me to have leftovers, tomorrow. I, also, ordered the fried bananas and coconut ice cream. I had low expectations for this because of the only other time I had ordered it elsewhere. This one was absolutely delicious. The bananas were wrapped In wantons and deep fried. They were not under ripe nor were they soggy or over cooked. The coconut ice cream was so refreshing. A delicious meal in an unlikely place. I will bring my friends here, next time, soon.

Hands down the best Thai restaurant in Federal Way. Don’t let the slightly sketchy shopping center deter you. It is worth the visit to meet Mac the owner to taste his tasty creations. I’ve had nearly everything here and none of it has disappointed. I’ve eaten here so much I’ve asked Mac to surprise me with something that’s not on the menu. The best value during lunch are the noodle dishes. Far too much food for one person but I usually eat it all. For dinner I like any of his fish dishes. The trout is especially good. Mac uses quality ingredients and it shows in his food. Take out is great because he uses quality containers that are recyclable. Top it all off with a Thai iced tea and you’ve had a great meal. Enjoy!

Food here is AWESOME. Lunch time very easy to get in and the owner is very friendly and social. They have a good lunch menu but if you have a Thai favorite all you got to do is ask and they will make it for you . Pad se ew is excellent. Thai version of pho is awesome if you ask the owner he will make it for you.

Overall, they have a nice variety of Thai cuisine. Pad Thai is delicious, love the appetizer sampler, and their curry is very delicious. I just left the restaurant and typically the food and service are 4-5 stars. Today was a little different. The curry was very salty, pretty unusual. We ate all the chicken pad Thai, and had more than half of the curry left. We did tell the owner about our salty curry, and to our surprise he fixed it even after we were finished eating. Good guest service is sometimes hard to come by, but with the owner at the front, we always have our drinks filled, food out fast, and the food and quality is very high.

Definitely upscale on the inside. But the prices dont reflect that. I ordered a Lychee Cocktail. And Pad Thai with chicken. And my date had drunken noodles with chicken. Huge portions for the price. Nice expansive area. Great beer and cocktail menu. Worth a trip in again and again.
